There are few albums I consider gems in the world of Metal. But every once in a while, something deserves this title, and this time Estatic Fear proudly takes it.
Estatic fear utilizes the raw energy of black metal at certain points, and the haunting beauty of female vocals and classical guitars at other parts. It's not something to digest easily as the 4 songs included on this album are dynamically layered as if telling somewhat of a story. Many times the tempo will change from slow and melodic to blasty and raw, giving atmosphere, and darkness when necessary. Somnium Obmutum is a rare album which should definitely not be overlooked for any reason. It's dark, light, beautiful, and chilling.
